Heartfelt thanks for uploading this rare gem of duet from Hindi film-songs. Shri Rakesh56677 is correct as I recall this incident being once narrated long back in the programme named "Sangeet Sitare" being telecast in DDII. The one mentioned by Shri Kamaldutta9 is related to another Madammohan-Lata Mangeshkar gem "Lug ja gale.." from "Woh Kaun Thi?" He has also correctly identified the heroine being Rehana Sultana.

i must have listened to the songs of Dastak including this one atleast five hundred times. Only for the sake of feel of the song, unexplainable mystic and soulful music. You guys know someting, still i dont understand Hindi language fully. You listen to such songs and feel an inner peace only coz of of the vibrations created by the tune, music and soulful rendition of Lataji

Madanji I still remember he's travelling on the Bombay trains, if i hear a good music of ol times cause, i was told he use to whistle out his composition while commuting from and to his recording studio. similarly the Dil doondahta- mausam of 70's is all time my favourit till i die.

Good lord, I love this version of Didi's and MadanJi's duet. This is Didi and Madan Bhaiyya at their BEST!! Great composition, great lyrics and great voice. Also, this is the one of few songs that MadanJi has sung in his career. I wonder why he didn't sing more. :( RIP !!!!!!

I think Madan Mohan recorded this song when Lata could not reach recording
