Its a prefix name given to him down south after the success of his film Sethu in which Chiyaan was his character name. The film won him several awards including a Filmfare Special Jury award for his great performance and just missed out on a National Award by a single vote to Mohanlal! That film then came out as Salman's Tere Naam in Hindi (official remake if u didn't know). He is one of the finest actors down south!!
