Apparently when Gulzarsaab took the lyrics of this song to late R.D.Burman,
he refused to compose it saying that music cannot be set on such a
difficult poetry. Gulzarsaab continued persisting and Panchamda continued
refusing. After lot of cajoling and coaxing, Panchamda relented and started
composing. Hear the result. Uncomparabale genius!!

i dnt think asha bhosle could ever sing better then diz...she has outclassed herself in diz song..enchanting mesmerising n nostalgic...today's music is crappy and trash after few weeks u dnt even feel lyk listenin to them

love this... but what i find a bit upsetting is RD Burman is generally given little credit for this... when he and Gulzar deserve the most credit. Asha's singing is great primarily because of RD Burman's control on her... else, i think she may not have done such a great job.

I have been yearning for a copy of this film.Not available.I am a great fan of Gulzar directed fims, I was on a trip to Amritsar, on a flight on Jet Airways, and saw the entire film! Thanks, what a balanced, mature film, which bollywood audiences still do not appreciate, no wonder its unavailable...
