To write poetry around a story situation is a tough artistic challenge and I am simply amazed how richly the Indian film lyricists have contributed. In this song Shakeel's poetry is not superficial but filled with profound philosophy wrapped in a mocking tone to suite the screenplay. Guru Dutt's cinematic genius is also visible if you carefully observe the camera angles. Music Director Ravi and singer Asha Bhonsle also have hit bulls eye with their talents. This is priceless! Thank you.

O God.Each and every song the brilliant ASHA BHOSLE has sung is acceptable
to my ears except this one. Why ? I'll never know. What a hit ! It was at
the top of Binaca Geet Mala also. Ameen Siyani was another 'LOTA LUNATIC'.
Ashaji's great songs were never played by him only the bad ones were
force-fed to the JUNTA.

This is too much, Shakeel is the ultimate in expressing satire, irony and
down right facts about the ailment called love.

Ravi was lucky to have the genius songstress Asha Bhosle JI to sing these
songs. Lataji could have sung these songs but would have not given the life
and energy required

Thanks a million for uploading my request for this lovely song. The most memorable and mesmerising song by Asha Bhosle on Meenu Mumtaz (Mehmood's sister) in Chaudhvin Ka Chand. This film remains one of Guru Dutt's most enduring films and music director Ravi's greatest hit "Dil Ki Kahani Rang Layi Hai"
