Mirza Sahib. Thank you. This is a rare treat. Film Hamdard, 1954, written by Majrooh Sultanpuri(one of his best ghazals ever), composed by Anil Biswas and sung by our beloved Mannada.

There is another Mannada solo gem from this film "Tore naina kateele lajeele haye ram". This was released in 1980 when Mannada re-sung his old songs in stereo under music arrangement by Ashok Patki.

Manna Dey is best known for his skills in rendering songs based on
classical music. He added one more feather to his cap by singing this
beautiful ghazal. Legendary composer Anil Biswas deserves credit for this.
Two other songs (duets) sung by Lata and Manna Dey are still fresh in my
memory. Anil Biswas's contribution to Indian film music will be written in
golden words. Majrooh Sahib penned one of the best ghazals of his film
career ( second only to film Dastak's ghazal Hum hai matae koochae)

majrooh's superb ghazal. probably tal'at mehmood would be a better choice.
i must say this cannot be 1943 as suggested by chundrigar because nimmi's
first movie was barsaat in 1949/50.

Seedhe-saade par kitne khubsurat bol likhe Majrooh Sahab ne, aur kitni
khubsurat tarz banaayi Anil Biswas ji ne. Manna Dey ji ne bade hee pyaar
se, bade itmeenaan se yeh naghma gaaya, jaise ki gaate waqt usmein poori
tarah se doob gaye hon.

Mirzaji, "Bata do koi kaun gali gaye Shyaam" and this song have possessed
me in the last couple of days since you uploaded the tribute to Manna Dey.
I have heard both of them several times already, and still can't shake off
this one. To me, this is one of the most beautiful songs from Manna Dey's
repertoire, and you have uploaded it in a very good audio quality along
with nice pictures of pretty Nimmi ji. Thank you.
