While Lakshmikant-Pyaarelal crafted so many qaulity songs of sorrow, pathos
and dejection, is not this one the greatest of them all!!! The very start
is a heart-rending shehnai, followed by a filled-with-pathos and
choked-with-emotions voice of Shabbeer Kumar! The background is formed by
haunting and persistent tabla beats! This song was tailor-made for Shabbeer
Kumar. And does not he grasp the opportunity with relish! He thrived in sad
songs, and this perhaps is his best essay.

The film in itself was a weird venture -- gaudiness of B or C or D grade
cinema interspersed with the musical brilliance of Laxmikant-Pyarelaal and
the one pointed talent of Shabeer Kumar. (Did I forget to metion the antics
of the quadruped) Jacky Shroff was listless and uninterested in the
proceedings. Amrish Puri and Poonam Dhillun were their usual selves.
Asrani, however, did manage to acquit himself rather well.
