In Sunil Dutt's true spirit - he had made a great movie with a really nice
feel to it Great playback music and soundtrack from Jayadev. Excellent,
true literary songs, by one of popular poet Bal Kavi Bairagi. Good
photography with panoramic view of Thar desert of Rajasthan and blue sky
above it. There are few scenes with breath taking beauty of the desert.

This is simply an awesome song - reminds me of jaidev's older work in Mujhe jeene do. Incidently the lead pair was the same in the film too.

I didn't find anything even the least bit besura in this song. I sing this at every opportunity.

It was RESHMA AUR SHERA.Sunil Dutt's own production which did not do well
at the box office .This was also Sanjay Dutts debu film as a child
artist.He sits along with his father in a qawaali.Also Amitabh Bachchan had
a small role in the film where he looked so lean and thin.Thats how i
remember him.Rakhi was there too in a small but very powerful role.

why Indian women always singing like cat "miaw miaw" and men like "woww
woww" and singing not with "normal voice" ? only once time I had listened
an Indian song that singing by a woman with "normal voice", it was very
nice doesn't exist any more of "normal-voice-Indian-song" where the voice
of singer can easily recogniced ? I can't listen any more of "miaw miaw"

Indian songs are sung in a higher key than the western songs. This is why they sound operatic and require rigorous classical music training. Western songs are sung in the lower keys. This makes it easier to sing pop songs which most people can sing without any music training. Hence the ease of forming rock groups and quickly making a Top 20 hit song.
You must be born in the sub-continent to really appreciate this music.

2-3 Indian "miav-miav-song" could be okay,but listening 1000 Indian song
and all 1000 again of same miav-miav-sound make "peng peng" in my head you
can't recognize the singer by voice, and not only the Western singing with
"normal voice", nearly the rest of the world

I am afraid that this kind of music is not for you. If you get "peng peng" in your head, why do you listen to this music? We have no problem recognizing the singers by their voices. This is our culture so we love it and understand it. Are you from the Philippines?

all I want to say is why Indian people always singing in same tone (woman
in high and man always in deep), you can listen 1000 Indian song and all
1000 are like the same, I'am searching Indian music with normal voice that
I recognize in that "typical voice", but it's in Indian Music impossible to
recognize this can you say me some Indian music/Indian singer singing with
"normal voice" ? I would be glad when you do it (till today I find only
Paki music with normal voice)

Listen to the songs of shreya goshal...not just hindi songs..but also songs
in other langs..she sung..try abhijeet for male voice..and ..define
normal..typical...i couldnt get you on that ...

this film to Sukhdev to direct it and somehow he made it look like a
documentary.Sunil Dutt took over and nearly went bankrupt making this movie
and this movie while not making any money went on to win Presidents gold
medal and Sunil Dutt had to work in inane films to make up for the loss. In
my view it doesnt matter what kind of music it is Indian or Western , all
of them have finer points in it if one has a open mind

What a composition by Jaidev !!!! This video brings the pathos of Rajasthan
alive. There is something unique about this composition - the entire songs
is based on the Dadra taal, but switches to Keharwa in between, and then
back to Dadra. Go figure. I get goose pimples every time I listen to
this one. Lata is heavenly.

The greatness of Lata can be judged by the fact that Sunidhi Chauhan,
singing one full octave lower(the highest she could sing), or so it seemed,
and singing only the easiest portion of this song, won the best singer
award in 'Meri Awaz Suno'. No other singer in India, past or present, is
capable of duplicating this rendition. Only composers like Jaidev, Vasant
Desai, Salil Chaudhary, Ravi Shankar and a hand full of others, could
extract such performances from Lata. She lives forever!

@tanguta and you western ppl sing like you guys are howling. u cant even
sing at top scale in normal voice, you force out too much and as a result
all its sound is howl howl howl. how much u know abt classical indian
music...its the toughest in the world, minimum you have to learn for 12
years to complete alone, you will never find such variations in any kind of
music..thats why we indians can even sing western songs if required but
never vice versa.and pls don show your ignorance more.
