@manx4u there are three beautiful versions of this song. a magnificient fast upbeat one by the legend Mohd Rafi, an emotiional female verson by Hemalata and this slow romantic version by Manhar Udhas. they just don't make this calibre of songs anymore.

This song is sung by Manhar Udhas, the elder brother of Pankaj Udhas.
Manhar was famous for his ability to imitate both Mukesh and Mohammed Rafi.
This song is sung in a Mukesh+Rafi mood. But he also sang the "Tera naam
liya tujhe yaad kiya" in "Ram Lakhan" and many songs in "Hero".

life out of imitating Rafida. Haven't you heard of Sonu Nigam? Rahul Vaidya
too is another Rafi clone. I never said Manhar sang like Rafi. He just
imitated. But he was better at imitating Mukesh.

I feel sad for people who want to compare this with Rafisaab's song, they
are sung completely differently with a different mood, both bring a
wonderful feel, but other than the wordings and Ranjeeta(lol) there is
little that is common in both.
