Anupama was released in 1966, and on 6th Jan,. 1966 Bimal Roy, who was Hrishikesh Mukherjee's mentor passed away. In the casting of the film it is mentioned ' Bimal Da ko saadar samarpit.' This film has shades of Bimal Da's brilliance. One thing many people may not know that this tune was used in a song by Hemant Kumar in Sahib Bibi aur Ghulam. But as the song was edited, the same tune was used in Anupama.
