They should have simply focussed more on Madhubala. Bharat Bhushan has simply the exact same expression throughout. Even Mhd Rafi probably displayed more emotion while recording this in the studio.
Madhubala lifts the picturization displaying her coy charms while Bharat Bhushan is as expressive as the mic he is singing into.

Thanks brother for appreciating the magic of rafi.many are writting against me ...but then I simply cant understand that how can they put rafi, kishore,mukes, manadeys on same pedastal...rafi has no pedastal becuse u cant have one for him..melody incarnated...RAFI.the voice that has created things beyond music..decades will come decades will go..Rafis voice wiil continue to haunt the music lovers...

Mohd. Rafi Sahab was in a league of his own. As a singer I can say that Rafi sahab's songs are the most difficult to do justice on stage.
Although Manna Dey was always technically brilliant, the versatility that Rafi sahab could bring to the table is unbeatable. As a playback singer, understanding the emotion in context with the script and delivering a moving rendition of a composition are of paramount importance. Rafi Sahab did that consistently.
Pure musical genius = Late. Mohd. Rafi sahab.

Recently saw an interview with legend K J Yesudas.
When asked about how to sing a song to perfection, Yesudas gave an example of how Rafi has sung this song...and added "I have always considered Rafi to be my Guru in my mind" !!
I always believed that Yesudas is a more gifted and technically better singer than Rafi Saab, but.Yesudas himself said it all about what Rafi means to him!!
