Lyrics of Ye Tanahaayee, Haye Re Haye - ये तनहाई, हाय रे हाय
ye tanahayi, hay re hay jane fir aye na aye
tham lo bahe, tham lo bahe
ye tanahayi, hay re hay jane fir aye na aye
tham lo bahe, tham lo bahe

jhum jhum gau, pyar se sharamau, ek nasha sa mujhe ho chala
teri meri chahe, roj badhi jaye, aur tute kabhi silsila
dekh teri meri abb ek dagariya
tham lo bahe, tham lo bahe, tham lo bahe
ye tanahayi, hay re hay jane fir aye na aye
tham lo bahe, tham lo bahe

aaj bane sathi dip aur bati, jagamagayi meri jindagi
pake tere saye kaun age jaye, tu mila to mili har khushi
tan man chamake, hain jaise bijuriya
tham lo bahe, tham lo bahe, tham lo bahe
ye tanahayi, hay re hay jane fir aye na aye
tham lo bahe, tham lo bahe

aaj samay aya mene tujhe paya, me lata hu tere pyar ki
phul naye lau tujhako mahakau, me kali hu tere har ki
pyar ki hamare, amar ho umariya
tham lo bahe, tham lo bahe, tham lo bahe
ye tanahayi, hay re hay jane fir aye na aye
tham lo bahe, tham lo bahe

Nutan such a brilliant actress. Good song from Lata Mangeshkar to the lilting tunes of S D Burman.

@Madsad1607 the beauty is she is fully clothed and there is no shortage of pure emotion and love. Compare it with the present non sense and when the real time comes they are totally broke in every sense.
This was our culture, traditions and this is what our forefathers gave us, now we are running after these bankrupt western cultures, this era is not going to come back.
with best regards
sam

@sam14450 I cannot help but make another comment about artistry in old films. In this movie for example, the role of non-lead actors like Om Prakash stands out and adds additional zest. The camera man contributes too. Observe how the camera discreetly focuses only on flowers for the whole of the last stanza, when she embraces him says: "phool naye laaoon, tujh ko mehkavoon..."

You are right. Very few appreciate Nutan's subtelities. Just obbserve how she changes her body movements to suit each stanza... esp at "tan man chamke hai jaise bijuriya" and depth of love that her eyes show at " main lata hoon tere pyaar kee...pyar kee hamaree amar ho umariya"
