in-laws, why shouldn't they visit the wife's family? She's still their
daughter, as much as her husband is his parents' son! To me, it's a good
thing that the words "ban gaya pardes ghar janam ka" are no longer true for
many young wives! Why should she lose her old family? Furthermore, the
natal home can be an important refuge for women in unhappy ora busive

It was a comment made with tongue firmly in cheek. Although it was more of
an indictment on the state of modern young men than a criticism of female
per se. Whilst the bride is well within her rights to visit her parents at
will, the fact that when a guy suggests HE'D like to spend some time with
his parents and siblings, she kicks-off and starts accusing him of not
liking her parents / family. 50 / 50 is fine, but in reality it is never
that equal. The girl always wants the upper hand, lol.
