Love the simplicity during that times. I saw this movie when I was a kid
and did not like it at that time. I saw it again a few years ago and think

I am a Hindi speaker and can understand this song word by word and the soul too. Yesudas Ji is undoubtedly one of the greatest singer in this world. His voice is simply devine and atleast I cannot imagine that this is not the voice of the god himself. This is our (Hindi music lovers) misfortune that Yesudas Ji sung a very few songs in Hindi films.

Yes, Yesudas has some "bad attititude", like believing in all religions,
and speaking for the unity of religions and not really emphasising the
religion in which he was born,does not sugar coat his words. If this are
bad attitudes, then it is "bad".But he is the only one with so much courage
to talk openly, especially in the film field. He survived all these years

Technically Yesudas is just light years ahead of anyone else except
probably Manna Dey, and like Manna Da he wears his superior technique very
lightly. His phrasing is superb and attention to sahitya and song
structure. God bless him! After all Yesudas is a student of Semmangudi
Srinivasa Iyer.

Just adding my 2 cents to Rafi-Yesudas. I have been listening to these two for nearly 25 years, sometimes alternately and often for hours on end. Judging them, I have stopped since about 15 years, now it's all amazement and reverence. Both of them have crossed that level where comparison no longer exists. May be only the next generations will fully comprehend the fact that two of the greatest male voices ever, walked our land more or less in the same period.

I resoectfully diagree. Kishore Kumar was never trained as a classical singer, but Rafi, Mukesh & all other simply could not match his genius ever. Rafi had his day, he was very good, no doubt, but Kishore Kumar was pure divine in his singing. That is why he has millions & milions of fans. Kishore Kumar is GOD!
