i have been searching for this song like crazy. thank u v much.
Vidya Moorthy on January 05, 2010
Thank you for posting this. I wonder if any of today's clowns in the music
industry can make the time to watch this. It is a tragedy that we Indians
have abandoned such treasure. The melody, lyrics and orchestration combined
with the rendition of this song make it a shining example of the
yesteryears. I wish the people involved in today's music good luck but I
wish the music itself would crash and burn.

no match 2 sajad sahib. nice & melodious composition. sajad has few films 2
his credit & has given marvellous music. a best mandolin player he was firm
self respecting man. in one of his film dalip kumar made sm remarks y
interfering in his work. 2 this sajad sahib badly scolded dalip kumar that
this is not his field & 2 mind his own business. dalip kumar had 2 eat a
humble pie. . this gr8 legend is no more with us. let his soul rest in
eternal peace. enjoyed the song. thanx 4 gr8 upload.

4:23 to 4:26...kya harkat hai...kamaal ki melody...Rafi sahab the ultimate
king of music!
Voltairec on May 15, 2010
Rafi n Manna Dey's medley is magical.the chorus is divine and Sajjad
just for this song has to an immortal. Life moves on but Indian film music
has no excuse for falling to such rotten depths.all they have to do is
revisit the classics and feel ashamed and do some course correction! Is it
too much to hope for?
sonny19xx on May 20, 2010
great song. sajjad 's masterpiece. i can never understand why he did not
attain the status that was achieved by others like roshan , khayyam. this
qawwali is incomparable. rafi mannadey sing beautifully, especially rafi
saab. . a rare glimpse of mumtaz. thanks pariradhe. the setting of the song
is quite unique.
Vimmi Subramanian on May 30, 2010
Beautiful. Considered to be one of the best qawaalis' of Hindi cinema.
Sajjad's use of instruments creates magic along with melodious singing by
Rafi, Manna De ,Talat etc. A MUST HEAR for the music directors of today to
make them realize what music is all about.
vvmks1 on July 16, 2010
Beautiful song. Simply outstanding in every aspect. Music, lyrics and Rafi's melodious voice just out of this world.

This song is a marvellous piece of Urdu poetry and music. One can never get
tired of listening to this song. I think this is because it speaks of
parting from the beloved and the longing. Truly all the people in this
song, the lyricist, music composer, the singers and the actors deserve a
standing salute! Thanks for posting this lovely song.
N K on November 23, 2010
@rsrividya I would not agree with you more! The greatest of the lyricists,
musicians and singers of this golden era has vanished leaving us with the
current remix clowns and so called singers who cannot hold a candle to
these great artists who created these timeless pieces..
brownjonga1 on February 17, 2011
he yman thanx for this, excellent, song, bring back ,my younger day when my dad took me to see this excellent movie, still have the memory, of past, thanx
ShivKumar44 on May 21, 2011
@srividya if you were in front of me I don't know what I would do.What you
said I have been trying tell the same for a long time. However, I am a new
comer in this field. If you are a man accept my Shake Hand and if you a
girl accept my Namaste.
Vidya Moorthy on July 07, 2011
@shivkumar1945 Namaste ji :)
Vasudeosingh Singh on October 28, 2011
@rsrividya You are correct in your assesment as this particular piece is
one of its kind in hindi films. You may also like to applaud Sajjad
Hussain, the composer of music for this film who has though done very few
films due to his commitment to the style of music for which he was known. An
example his composition of a song by great Mohd.Rafi in film Babar" Tum ek
baar mohabbat ka imtihan to lo.." Just lsten to this song & you will know
why SH stands out from rest of musicians of his era.

Thanks for uploading the video. Lovely lovely song. There are three singers
for this song - the third being SD Baatish (if I am not wrong). Youtube,
the web and people like you all will keep this culture flourishing and
alive. I would be surprised if any of AR Rehman's song will still be played
another 10 years from now, but songs such as these are timeless.
Narasimhan Srinivasan on July 16, 2012
hi while songs out here are excellent, pls. do not use them as an excuse to
take potshots at AR Rehman. Everyone cannot be a Naushad, but remember
Husanlal Bhagatram or Khemchand Prakash were replaced by Naushad, he made
way for Shankar Jaikishan, they made way for Laxmi Pyare. Etc. Tamil films
have been no different, for a long time K.V.mahadevan and Viswanathan
Ramamurthy or M.S.Viswanathan ruled the roost, they made way for Ilayaraja,
who has made way for AR Rehman. This is transition.

who else ? the great mohammad rafi saheb
Sumit Naut on October 11, 2012
thanks for your reply...are you sure it's Rafi in the beginning?
Narasimhan Srinivasan on November 13, 2012
Dear friend, surely musicians like Sajjad Hussain, Ghulam Mohd. are
immortal. But it is unfair both to compare and criticise A.R.Rehman. I like
both good compositions of today as well as cannot stop appreciating music
and songs of yester-years. Pl.remember A.R.Rehman did not get an
introduction but he burst into the music scene with very original and path
breaking score in the film Roja. He has held on to his high standards even
now. So he is as good as those before him.
Rakesh Malhotra on November 15, 2012
late sh. mohammad rafi. listen another song YA QURBAN of KABULIWALA and
veryfy yourself.
Ajay on November 20, 2012
Thanks for a very cultured reply. Perhaps I was a bit uncharitable to AR
Rehman and I will leave it at that.
Narasimhan Srinivasan on November 22, 2012
thanks. it's ok. actually it is better to praise or criticize the composer
of the song we are listening to, according to quality of the composition.
Why waste time in comparison. Even then, sometimes it becomes unavoidable
because people like me cannot resist pointing out that Manna and Rafi being
trained in classical music could sing any kind of song, while many other
famous male singers couldn't do that. But that is another argument.
